how we began.Fellowship MSC began as the expression of what God is doing at Fellowship Chapel back in 2017. It started with worship arts director Nate Raese introducing some songs he wrote into the church.
But it quickly began growing as he and Kevin Kausch, another FM worship leader, began songwriting — the first of these songs being "Seek First." FM recorded and released this song and a Christmas single "God Rest Ye Merry (Peace)," all the while almost two dozen FM original songs continued to be introduced and sung at the church. FM spent the summer of 2019 recording for the two-part album We Turn & Run (dropped February 28) and Two Beams of Wood (drops Fall 2020). |
who we are.Based out of Fellowship Chapel in Sterling Heights, Michigan, Fellowship MSC writes and creates music for three main reasons:
1) to help our church creatively express the heartbeat of what God is doing here 2) for the benefit of those outside our community who stand to be impacted by our music 3) for the sake of creativity in and of itself! Musically, although FM takes some cues from the sound coming from the current worship subculture, our own flavors of electronic, folk, and rock come through to originally define our sound. Our team ranges from vocalists to bassists to guitarists to keyboardists to drummers—with all our production being done in house. Lyrically, our songwriters create songs both as worshippers seeking to experience God themselves and as leaders writing on behalf of our people. It's about taking the deep truths of Scripture and the gospel and poetically stating those in such a way as to help us all to connect with God on a deeper level. |
